Harvest and Thanks Celebration

On Friday, from 12:00-1:00, we will be having a Harvest and Thanks Potluck. We will give thanks for our blessings, and enjoy foods made in the spirit of the original Harvest Festival of the pilgrims- dishes made with fruits, vegetables and grains. We would love for you to join us, and if you would like to contribute a favorite family dish, that would be great.

Also if you have cups, or plates, of cutlery... that would be great too!

If possible, let's post below in the comments and let us know if you can make it and/or what you may be able to bring!

I'm bringing Jack and some acorn squash (thank you Dragon Organics) and a noodle dish and maybe some bread, depending on what else is needed.  Hope to see you there... if not, hope to see you on Saturday at the Local Color Craft fair.  I'm baking and (hopefully) beading bracelets for sale.  Even if you can't donate you can SHOP for the holidays.

The Glashaus artists are opening their studio doors to everyone, amazingly talented crafters and artists will be selling their work, kids will be crafting in the Kid Zone, MIHO will be cooking, you will be eating amazing baked treats and the middle school kids will take care of your gift wrapping!  Get your picture taken in Jen Jansen’s vintage style photo booth or get your portrait drawn in Flo Pacho’s whimsical style. Fun for the whole family!

Pumpkin Patch

Thank you to Miss Holly and all of the great parents who came along on our first field trip.  Everyone had an awesome time between the maze and the pumpkins and our wonderful San Diego weather.  I'm posting a few pictures from the trip... this is a closed, private blog but if you don't want a picture of your child on here.  Just let me know!

Dollar or two dollars

Hey guys,
If you can, give $10 bucks for the field trip to cover the cost for the drivers to the pumpkin patch.  $8 is the actual field trip amount BUT if you can, give 10 and contribute for the drivers (everyone understands if you can't!  we all know how that goes!)

ALSO Miss Holly needs a refill on Butterfly dollar gifts.  Are you going to Target and can get a few things from their dollar bins?  Do you have some extra cheap toys that can reward the kids?  If you can, pick up a few things for Miss Holly's Butterfly bin and drop them off.

LASTLY... bake sale on Thursday...  tomorrow!  Oh my, I must get baking!
Baking or buying, either way you are helping!

Thank you,
Dana

2nd Grade Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch! We need you!

 Monday, October 29, 2012 @ 10am

Being a parent on a field trip can be so much fun!  Especially for a parent new to the school, to facilitate getting to know the class!  And we have such a great group of kids!  We NEED drivers!  Consider volunteering for our first field trip to the Bates Pumpkin Patch.  I'm going to post the permission slip in case it doesn't make it home (we all know how that goes!) Find it below under Files for the Classroom.

Read more about the farm here: http://batesnutfarm.biz/p-9221-about.html

It's $8 for each student and ONLY $3 for each adult and sibling!  Let me know if you have any questions!

Need Costumes? Fund the Museum school!!!

Why not get cheap costumes for Halloween and a few treats!  I will be baking something delicious!

UPCOMING BAKE SALE & COSTUME SALEOn Thursday, October 18th, we will be having a bake sale to benefit the Middle School Dance. And the first annual Costume Sale sounds awesome! Nothing will be more than $5, there is already a lot, but we can always use more. So bring in your old and ill-fitting costumes from yesteryear. We will likely extend the Costume Sale to Friday in case you can't make it for the half-day (Thursday) pick-up. Oh and baked goods, we need those too, but please, have them individually wrapped. Thanks!
